Are you paying too much for your credit card processing fees?

However, when engaging with my customers, or discussing with other petroleum marketers at trade shows, I often (almost always) find that most companies do not understand their credit card processing contracts, and are usually paying much more than they should.

At Datanova Software, we coach our customers on how to reduce those fees and the vast majority are able to reduce them dramatically, usually 100,000$ ! # (And this is obviously recurring…) So, ask yourself, how many gallons or liters of fuel do you need to sell in order to make $100,000 net profit?

In short, I have past the last decade explaining the ins and outs to my customers:
1. You need an integrated solution (ERP directly to Processor)
2. Never, ever manually punch CC data into a terminal
3. Make sure that you keep your PCI compliance updated
4. Know which rates you should be qualified under
5. Know what to they mean by: Cost plus X basis points
6. Know how to read your statement
