Make each delivery count!

As a #petroleumindustry marketer, your business is never to send a truck out.
Your business is to ask whether sending a truck out will be profitable.
The old way of thinking about profit in the petroleum marketing industry is thinking in terms of cents per litre or cents per gallon. This is how the business has been traditionally run for generations. This old way of thinking is tied to the “just in time” mentality from the 90s - send a truck out right away, especially to avoid customer runouts. However, thinking this way has a huge cost - the cost of running and maintaining trucks.
Nowadays, you need to think in terms of PROFIT PER DROP and ask yourself whether it's profitable to send a truck out. For example, pay more attention to market prices for fuel. When prices are low, keep customer inventory high. When prices are going down, it might be efficient to split loads and minimize your customer’s price risk (trust me, they will love you for it).
I’m all about the predictability of efficient deliveries. - Our system assesses and predicts when the next delivery may be required, you can use this data to coach your customers on your reliability and predictability.
