As a petroleum marketer, what is your selling point? Is it price? Quality of fuel?
I coach my clients not to rely on price or quality as their differentiating factor. It's all the same in Canada.
If you want to differentiate yourself from other petroleum marketers and develop long-term relationships with your customers, you need to look at what your customers are doing with their fuel.
Hint: they aren’t just consuming it.
They are reporting on it, and the reporting and tax obligations are a huge pain point for most customers. The way to keep them as a customer for life is to take care of all of the reporting for your customer. The best way to do that is to use software that has a centralized tax management and reporting system. With a few clicks, you can take care of that for your customer because you’re already doing it yourself.
Make #technology your selling point, not price.
